Expertise
The main expertise is in the field of tropical agronomy is in sustainable agriculture, crop production and extension services. Experience spans a period of 10 years in Gabon, Tanzania and India working for the Food and Agriculture Organization FAO of the United Nations. Sustainable Agriculture
During the assignments in the developing world, the focus was on developing sustainable agriculture systems. In cooperation with farmers, farming systems were developed where cropping, livestock keeping and soil conservation measures were integrated.
Crop Production
Crop production is my main technical expertise. Crops covered in field projects include major food crops like: maize, beans, rice, cassava, wheat as well as cash crops like: cotton, coffee and fruit trees. Projects were executed under both mechanized farming conditions as well with as small farmers conditions.
ICT and Agriculture
The combination of my experience in Agriculture and ICT has been used in project for:

Extension
Rural extension, working with the national agriculture services and the local farmers has been a central issue in all assignments. Training of extension staff and farmers was a central part in my assignments in tropical agronomy.
